An (Early) Halloween Day Out

On Sunday, we headed to the National Trust's Rowallane Garden for their Ghosts & Ghouls weekend. There was loads for the kids to do - pumpkin carving, a ghost trail, petting farm and face painting…a great day out.
I wore the trusty Merrell and welliesskinny jeans by Gok, scarf print top from H&M (last seen here) and cross body bag from Vintage Pintage (seen here).
As we were there early, we got some lovely photos of the girls beside all the pumpkins lined up for carving. When we came back after our ghost trail, there were hardly any left!
Then we headed off to complete the ghost trail. This next gruesome picture was all posed by dummies you'll be glad to hear! Croquet using human heads…thankfully went right over the girls' own heads...
Callum loved it - kept running on to find the next part of the trail. This was one of his favourites (we had to gather the letters in each scene to solve the puzzle - hence the 'N' stuck to the tree!)
I'm looking forward to the half term holiday which starts on Friday. The kids are off all next week so it's a great chance to have a few late mornings and to catch up with family and friends. Also hoping to utilise my new (to me) camera for some overdue outfit posts. I have been lost without a camera this week! Have a great Thursday :)

  1. Lovely pics. It's really nice to see your family on the shots. It brings it home that you are a busy mom but still with your finger on the fashion pulse. Can I ask what camera did you get?

  2. Thanks Sue…oh what a camera palaver! Tried out a Bridge camera and an SLR and was underwhelmed by both. I'm sure they are wonderful for scenery and stuff but for blog photos they are unnecessary and bulky. So I've gone for a very good compact digital - highly recommended by husband's gadget magazine. Sony DSC HX5V. RRP about £200 so I got a second hand one on eBay. Watch this space! :) Avx

  3. Your hair looks super cute in the first picture! As does Katie who looks like she has just stolen a baby animal and is hiding it up in coat and hopes you won't notice LOL!

    1. Aw…thanks GL! And lol at the comment about Katie…you are right! She is a little monkey! X

  10. Great to see the boy in Camo! xx

  11. I think the world and his/her mother were at Rowallane for this...we were there too but later in the afternoon after eating a picnic in the the car.. (too cold for outside!) The figures/scenes were wonderful, especially the monster mash. We go there quite often so it was strange to see it so busy.

  12. Wow looks a great place to visit,my kids would love it here :)
