My Viscata Espadrilles

On Sunday, I took my new espadrilles (and the twins!) to Bangor on a day out. I've been looking for a pair of navy wedge heel espadrilles since giving up my search for navy sandals. I saw Fran rocking hers on her Instagram and it clicked with me that espadrilles were the way to go - the perfect navy summer shoe that will actually end up being wearable for way more of the year than a sandal will. I'm thinking of those nice spring days in May when you're not ready to get the toes out...and those rainy days in August when you still want to believe it's summer....
Anyway, less of the weather, here I am on an actual ok day in August:

Dress - Zara (SS17 Sale)
Jeans - Tesco (old)
Cross Body Bag - Mint Velvet (SS16)
I've developed a whole new love for dresses that button down the front. I can't believe I didn't work out before now how versatile they can be.
But back to the espadrilles - here hey are close up:
They are the first heels I've worn all summer and I'm pleased to report that I managed them all day long with no issues from my back and no rubbing or blisters. I was sure that there would be some rubbing around the front or at the heel but clearly these espadrilles have been made to completely avoid this.  I'd not heard of the brand before - you can see the whole range here - but when I read that the shoes are made in Spain in the traditional way, it all made sense.

I'll admit, they're more of an investment purchase but having researched the different espadrille brands, it seems that you get what you pay for and in the case of this kind of classic piece, I'm happy to make the investment. Of course, I'm now committed to getting as many wears as possible over the remainder of the summer! But I'm confident the espadrille trend is going nowhere next SS so they'll be well worn next year too.
Finishing with a couple of outfits from the rest of this week - one of those lovely Irish summer weeks...raining one minute, roasting the next!
Jacket - Warehouse (AW16)
Scarf - Ancient
Jeans - Primark Ankle Grazers (current stock)
Trainers - Seven Boot Lane (SS17 Sale)
Bag - Yoshi Bags
and this one featuring my flat espadrilles from the Seven Boot Lane sale, which has sadly finished now. But the scarf....GRAB it while you can, along with the other colours it comes in! It's a fab scarf and only £6.99 in H&M
Jumper - Stone Boutique, Portstewart
Jeans - Ancient
Espadrilles  - Seven Boot Lane (SS17 Sale)
Scarf - H&M Current Stock
Cross Body Purse - Accessorize (SS17 Sale)

Hope your week has been good...if you're like me (and not in Scotland), you'll be counting down the days to the 1st September possibly....
I'll try to be back soon,
Ax
