REVIEW - Seven Seas Perfect7® Renewal | Beauty | Ad

Towards the end of last year, I was asked by Seven Seas if I would take part in a 60-day trial of their latest innovation, Perfect7® Renewal. The product is a UK first with a unique formulation using ceramosides™ for more hydrated looking skin from within.

The Perfect7® Renewal's innovative Ceramoside™ technology promises to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days - so you can guess that I was keen to road test this claim. I'm at a stage in my life where I don't want to not have wrinkles but I definitely would like to reduce their appearance a little.

Each box contains blister packs of three different tablets - a Ceramoside™ tablet, a comprehensive multivitamin and mineral tablet to support overall health and well being, and a Seven Seas Omega-3 capsule. You take one of each every day at the same time, with a drink. I prefer to take them mid way through my breakfast as I have the 'fish oil tablet repeating' fear. They actually have not repeated on me at all in the time I've been taking them so I'm guessing the formulation is a bit more stomach friendly than those evil cod liver oil tablets my mother forced us to take when we were kids. They kept us healthy but I'll never forget those fishy burps on the walk to school.

Back to the Seven Seas Perfect7® Renewal and here's where I share the science bit - taken from the Seven Seas website -
Perfect7® Renewal Advanced has been scientifically designed to help support better looking skin in 7 ways - firmness, moisture, smoothness, elasticity, radiance, softness and reduced appearance of wrinkles - all thanks to the Ceramosides™. There are also seven health benefits from Perfect7® Renewal Advanced and I am as interested in these as I am in the skin side of things ** - 1- Hair - Biotin, 2- Nails - Zinc, 3- Collagen formation - Vitamin C, 4- Cell protection - Vitamin E, 5- Energy - Iron, 6- Hormonal activity Vitamin B6, 7- Reduction in tiredness and fatigue - Folic Acid did I find them?
The first thing I noticed was that my nails started to grow like mad. I have the worst nails - they are so dry - especially the skin around them and I tend to pick at them when I'm nervous or stressed (yeuch habit - sorry). Suddenly, without changing anything else in my diet or using any nail product, my nails were long...I was having to clip them. It took me a few weeks before I clicked that this was the Perfect7® - I have clearly (like most people) been zinc deficient for years.
The second noticeable effect was with the skin on my body. I'm not using body cream as often because my skin simply doesn't seem to need it.

I then found myself scrutinising my face to see if there was any difference and although I don't have scientific evidence to support this, I definitely feel that the skin on my face has improved. It's difficult to quantify a change in wrinkles but my skin is brighter, softer and healthier, which has made the wrinkles look less obvious.

For context, I'm 45 with a good skin routine but a fair bit of sun damage from my 20's. I drink loads of water, stopped showing my bare face to the sun when I was 30 and have regular gentle peels - all essential for great skin and all of which I strongly recommend. I think as you get older though, you need to do everything you can to counteract the ageing process which seems to kick in hard mid 40's and Seven Seas Perfect7® Renewal is an effective way to make that extra investment in your face. It's all about treating it from the inside as well as the outside.

Price wise, Seven Seas Perfect7® Renewal retails at £39.99 for a month's supply. There's £5 off in Boots at the moment AS WELL AS a 3 for 2 offer, making a 3 months supply only £69.98, which works out at just 78p a day. Boots also have longer term offers which work out marginally less expensive. The longest of these makes the daily cost 75p. I'm happy to invest the price of a chocolate bar into my skin for the differences I've seen...and your waistline will thank you for that substitute!

But here's the thing, it's not just the skin benefits..
You'll have to take my word for this but I think my activity levels on Instagram have reflected it. I'm feeling really good in myself with better than usual energy levels & less tiredness. I started working longer hours in October and combined with the blog and my self employed work....and the family, house and exercise, there were a lot of plates to spin. When I reflect back on it all, I've been managing really well with no burn-outs at all while running an average of 10 miles a week over 3 runs and going to the gym for a weights session once a week.

And....I'm loathe to write this on a blog post as I'm afraid I'll tempt fate but I've not had a single dose of the cold all winter. My immune system is pretty good generally and I usually only succumb a couple of times over the season but despite the rest of the house having the lurgy and me being back in an air conditioned office full of sneezy people, I've not taken anything. I've had a couple of days where I've felt like a virus was working on me but it's come to nothing.

It's been more than 60 days  - how are they still having an effect?
Yes, it has been more than 60 days since I started the trial and my initial supply has long since finished so here's the 'put your money where your mouth is' moment. I repurchased the tablets myself with my own money. I had a week's break between my trial pack finishing and my purchased one arriving and I swear my skin just wasn't as happy. This is a long term investment in my skin and if the other health benefits keep delivering, I'm one happy camper.

Thanks to Seven Seas for inviting me to take part in this campaign. It was a paid project and I was also supplied with a complimentary 60 day supply of the product to allow me to test it.
